Five Stones Institute is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that offers education sessions and other support in the balanced care of mind, body and spirit with an emphasis on stress management through Mindfulness.
Mindfulness is the practice of focusing attention purposely on the present moment - and accepting it without judgment. Research has proven its effectiveness in health and wellness. It is a great antidote to stress and has been shown to improve physical and emotional symptoms such as high blood pressure, chronic pain, insomnia, depression and anxiety. Mindfulness also leads to contentedness – being at peace with what is.
A crucial vehicle for delivery of our Mindfulness resources to all segments of our community is our partnerships with local community organizations. Current partnerships include Loudoun Hunger Relief and INMED Partnerships for Children. Through these partnerships, the Institute delivers sessions on Healthy & Mindful Nutrition and Stress Management through Mindfulness, including Mindfulness catered to children and teenagers in difficult situations.
The Institute’s signature program is The Mindful Way. This 6-month program teaches transformational tools for Mindfulness in everyday life with practices such as meditation, mindful movement and eating, guided imagery and breath awareness. Participants build a mindfulness practice and daily habits that will continue to help them in their daily lives after exiting the program.
